New York City
New York City, New York, United States
April 2002
As New York grew to become one of the world's largest cities in the early 1900s, bridges, tunnels, and subways were built to connect Manhattan and other boroughs. More that 10 million people live in the area captured in this view. Landsat images, such as this one, are used to map the extent of urbanization on the earth's surface.
