Southern India, Asia
April 1998
Monsoon rains, which last from June to October, make the Indian subcontinent home to a large and diverse range of vegetation. The colors in this infrared image indicate the presence and density of the vegetation cover. The yellows and greens show moderate vegetation, while the reds reveal a higher concentration of plant life. White areas are clouds or snow-capped mountains.
